For any query, please contact me using the form below. I am eager to discuss novel collaborations.
I supervise the research projects of ~4 students each year and am always happy to discuss potential projects for graduate students at UTRGV. Please get in touch if you’re interested! The current fully-funded projects I have available are the following:
Project 1. Mineral-mediated vectorial nucleotide polymerization without wet-dry cycling. — Skills: Analytical chemistry, microfluidics, geochemistry, enzymatic molecular biology. MS level.
Project 2. Coupling of intermediary proto-metabolism cycling with amino acid synthesis + polymerization. — Skills: Metabolism, analytical chemistry, microfluidics. PhD level.
Project 3. Coupling autocatalytic cycling with growth and non-genetic replication and heredity. — Skills: Metabolism, analytical chemistry, modelling, biophysics. PhD level.
Project 4. Mapping out the products of Enceladus’ hydrothermally-related geochemistry. — Skills: Geochemistry, high-pressure microfluidics, analytical chemistry, planetary science. MS or PhD level.
Project 5. Simulating upwards journey and icy deposition + irradiation of Enceladus’ organics. — Skills: Engineering, planetary science, analytical chemistry. MS or PhD level.
I also provide expert advise to private or public organisations and individuals on:
- Prebiotic chemistry
- Astrobiology and astrochemistry
- Space exploration, biosignatures, Ocean Worlds
- Primitive heredity, bioenergetics
- Geochemistry of hydrothermal systems
- Microfluidics, analytical chemistry, engineering
- Early-career prospects and networking
